Ramin Ganeshram Author Visit Kit

1–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12

Ramin Ganeshram (Ra-meen Gan-esh-ram) is a chef and cookbook author who shares her love of food stories; cultural exploration and American History with children through her middle grade novel Stir It Up!

Ramin holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and has been an adjunct journalism professor at New York University. Her favorite thing to do during author visits is to help kids tap their imaginations coupled with research skills to be better creative writers, regardless of genre.

Description of the Author’s Presentation

Ramin tailors presentations to the needs of the class and curriculum, combining PowerPoint, on-site activities, writing exercises and more.

Maximum of 3 library/school visits per day.

Conference and Festival Appearances

As a former research strategist at a major market firm, Ramin is very comfortable presenting to large groups and is eager to share thoughts on creative ways to engage kids in research, writing, and relatable exploration of various aspects of American culture and history.

Virtual Visits

Ramin has participated in Skype visits with various schools and loves it! It’s a great way to engage with young people in a format they know and adore. It’s also an economical option for teachers to arrange a school or classroom visit!

AV and Tech Needs for In-Person Visits

A computer with large screen is required for PowerPoint presentations. For writing workshops or presentation with a creative writing aspect, a large easel with writing pad and markers is needed or erasable chalk/dry erase board.

Other Materials: Because some of Ramin’s presentations are interactive—sometimes including food!—special material requests might be made based on presentation chosen.

For rates and fees please fill out our Author Request form and the Author Visits Manager will respond shortly. Ramin’s honorarium requests vary by proximity to her home, travel necessity and complexity of presentation/number of visits.
