Rita Rosa Ruesga's presentation is full of color, Latin flavors and multiculturalism. Students will enjoy stories and will sing along with traditional and original songs. Rita Rosa won four nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards and literacy awards including the International Latino Book Awards.

Rita Rosa can present a bilingual or Spanish-only program.

Rita Rosa Ruesga is from Cuba, where she graduated as a music educator and took her first steps as a children songwriter and author. She lived in Mexico for a year before moving to Florida.

She has traveled to several countries where she has given lectures and workshops to educators and parents, as well as concerts and literacy presentations. She is currently a music educator, producer of children's content for PR agencies, lecturer, and is the founder of the children's educational project Los Grandes Amigos on Univision.

Rita Rosa Ruesga's interactive program motivates students to read, write, sing, and create music. She brings her guitar and folk music instruments. Her books with traditional Hispanic songs and original songs are loved by all audiences. At the end of the presentation, students can do a Q&A section. If time allows, Rita Rosa plays a word-song game with students.

This presentation could be bilingual or Spanish-only. All participants will receive a complementary bookmark.

Spanish Songs to Teach Effectively

Objectives:

  • Provide Spanish instructors with the confidence to be able to permanently integrate music and corporal expression into teaching a new language.
  • Understand the most relevant psychomotor, intellectual, and socio-emotional aspects involved in new language acquisition.
  • Offer solid and research-based resources to teachers so they are able to teach the language at a faster pace, with great enthusiasm and energy in the classroom.
  • Address the advanced technological resources used in order to achieve our objectives considering the widespread use of technology nowadays.

Rita Rosa Ruesga can perform during festivals upon request.
