Building Truly Fabulous Stories

Grades K-5
40-50 minutes

Kelly has always loved telling stories but as a young student, she had difficulty getting the ideas in her head onto the blank page. In her lively, high-energy presentation she teaches students her "tricks" and challenges them to use their big imaginations to build truly amazing stories. Together they do several fun and creative writing exercises that appeal to both emerging and experienced writers. Kelly loves being silly and the children roar with laughter.  She encourages students to embrace the editing process with a story about a "magical red pen." At the conclusion of the presentation, they read her latest book together.
