I'm a great lover of quotes—I think having a last name like LaSaracina, I love to read quotes by famous Italians. And this one actually comes from Lee Iacocca, former head of the Chrysler Corporation. Lee Iacocca said that in a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less. Because passing civilization on from one generation to another ought to be the highest goal anyone could aspire to. Unfortunately, we don't live in a completely rational society. And I think that the respect that teachers are given today is one of the major problems in drawing, and holding people in the profession.
