Write about feelings:
Talk about how Peter must have felt at different points in the story. Write children's ideas on chart paper. Then invite children to write a sentence on their own paper about how Peter probably felt at a certain time in the story.
- Peter felt happy when he was eating the lettuce.
- Peter felt sad when the mouse could not help him.
- Peter felt scared when Mr. McGregor chased him.
- Peter felt sick when he got home.
Children can illustrate their sentences and read them to one another.
