What you need:
• blanket

What to do:
1. On a warm spring day, take your baby into the backyard or to a park. Spread a blanket on the grass and lay your baby on his back.

2. Listen carefully — what sounds can you hear? The wind rustling in the leaves? Birds chirping? Kids riding their bikes? Point out these sounds to your baby and label them.

3. As your point out sounds to your baby, try to direct his attention to them. Turn his head in the direction of the sound.

4. To extend the activity, show your baby the sights of spring as well — new flowers, green leaves, new grass, and even families having picnics!
