The kids are alright!
You must be 16 years or younger to submit a video or image.

First, choose your medium. Do you want to create a Buzz Clip Video, a Buzz Pic, or a Buzz Toon Animation? Here are some ideas to get you started.

Buzz Clip Videos: Be the writer, the director, or the STAR. Choose one book to focus on, then...

  • Act out a scene with characters from the book.
  • Turn the book into a mini-musical.
  • Present the entire book in two minutes or less. (The longer the book, the better).
  • Interview characters from the book.
  • Produce a news bulletin from the world of the book.
  • Feel free to use: costumes, props, accents, wigs, stunt doubles and gummy bears.

Buzz Pics: Be the artist, the photographer, or the MODEL. Choose one book to focus on, then...

  • Create a movie poster for the book.
  • Photograph yourself as a character from the book, either in a scene, or in "candid" moments.
  • Make a new cover for the book.
  • Collect images that make you think of the book, and put them together in a collage.
  • Feel free to use: crayons, magazine clippings, computers, glitter, stickers, and gummy bears.

Buzz Toons Animations: You make the image, we'll do the animating. Ask yourself the question: "Where does reading take me?" THEN...

  • Draw yourself reading in your favorite spot.
  • Photograph the perfect place for a scene from your favorite genre (mystery, horror, comedy, romance, fantasy, etc.).
  • Show us a world you've created.
  • Imagine the very best place to read. Then draw it!
  • Make a collage of places where stories can happen.
  • Feel free to use: fog, palm trees, comfy couches, suspense, shadows, and gummy bears.
