SCHOLASTIC POSSIBLE FUND APPLICATION
The Scholastic Possible Fund was established to provide a single repository of quality children’s books to be donated to charity partners that share the Company’s mission to improve global literacy and put books into the hands of children who might otherwise have none. The Fund seeks to improve access to books in underserved communities and to provide relief in communities recovering from crises or natural disasters. The non-profit partners receiving donations from the Fund have demonstrated the ability to effectively educate children and families in diverse communities about the importance of books and reading from birth through adulthood.
Disclaimer
The majority of Scholastic’s book donations are distributed through established, pre-existing partnership with large national non-profit and literacy organizations. Due to limited inventory and the volume of requests received, Scholastic is only able to fulfill an extremely limited amount of additional, unsolicited book donations.
Each request will be reviewed and assessed based on our donation guidelines, available inventory and our commitment to ensuring the books are going to those organizations that will have the most effective impact. Donations are intended for non-profit organizations that have tax-exempt classification under sections 170 (c) or 501 (c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Donations are not renewable; organizations interested in a long term partnership with Scholastic are encouraged to also join our Scholastic Literacy Partner program: http://teacher.scholastic.com/products/literacypartnerships/.
Guidelines for donation request. Please check all.
Organizations that have established literacy programs that our donations can support and enhance will be given strong preference.
Recipients are not able to request specific titles, and are sent books based on age range and availability.
Scholastic is unable to make monetary donations.
Donations cannot be used for auction, resale, gift baskets or fundraising purposes. They must be distributed at no cost directly to the recipients.
