What You Need:

  • Felt
  • Tacky glue
  • Paper clips
  • Wooden dowel
  • String
  • Small magnets (available at craft stores)

What To Do:

1. Fold a piece of felt in half and draw fish, crab, and sea star shapes onto it. Cut out the shapes so that you have two of each.

2. Glue each pair of shapes together with a paper clip inserted in between at the edge, like a sandwich, so that half of the clip sticks out. Allow to dry.

3. Make a fishing rod by tying a long piece of string to one end of the dowel. Glue a small magnet to the other end of the string. When your child goes “fishing,” the magnet will stick to the paper clips!
