Library of Congress names new Board members for Literacy Awards…and Dick Robinson is one of them!

Mar 29, 2013
Librarian of Congress James H. Billington has named a group of distinguished men and women in the field of literacy to serve on the advisory board for the new Library of Congress Literacy Awards. These awards will recognize and support outstanding achievements in the field of literacy across the globe; the first recipients will be announced this fall. And among the group of members who will administer the awards is Scholastic’s chairman and CEO, Dick Robinson! He’s in good company, for sure. Former First Lady Laura Bush will serve as the honorary chair of the advisory board, and notable names like Caroline Kennedy, Lynda Johnson Robb, David Baldacci (hey, we just interviewed him!), and James Patterson will also sit on the Board. Check out the full list of board members here. Congratulations to Dick and all the other Board members — we can’t wait to see who is awarded later this year!
