Break out your macaroni, glue sticks and glittery pom poms, it’s National Craft Month! We are celebrating in The Scholastic Store by holding events every Saturday for 3 weeks straight in March, each one featuring a newtitle from Klutz! The staff and I have definitely been having fun practicing for them. Clay Charms is super cute, Dot Jewelry is elegantly simple and Star Wars Thumb Doodles is just plain cool! (When you can make Vader with a fingerprint and a pencil…who needs the Force!) The great thing about these (and all,) Klutz books is that everything you need is included. It’s perfect for novice crafters. (…and for experts, like Lauren, there are more difficult projects included in most books.) Of course, you also might have an itch to do some crafting with what you have in your home or classroom…fear not! The creative minds at scholastic.com have been busy crafting their own ideas! Teachers will LOVE the 29 separate ideas in this article(with video instruction!) There are even crafts for Clifford and Where the Wild Things Are! And over on the Parents channel, there are TONS of other options, including: Recycled Crafts Springtime Wind Chimes A Make Your Own Calendar(maybe to count down to when you can use those wind chimes!) In all, there are over 200 craft activities on the site, so feel free to browse! Happy Crafting!
