Make the most of your kids’ time off from school with a “bucket list” of can’t-miss fun. Enlist the kiddos to brainstorm activity ideas like learning to dive, flying a kite, or spending a long weekend at nana’s.

What you’ll need

  • A tall glass jar
  • Some sand
  • Clothespins
  • Summer souvenirs

Have kids write individual items from the bucket list onto clothespins, then affix to the lip of the jar. Fill the jar with sand. Let the kids add mementos from your adventures as you cross items off the list. Nab pinecones on a hike or a shell from your beach day. Voilà — a summer time capsule!
