Current Home: Oklahoma City

Richard Trout, an environmental biologist, consultant, and college professor, teaches biological sciences at Oklahoma City Community College. In addition to his full-time teaching schedule, Mr. Trout spends countless hours in schools and libraries talking with young people about his stories and his travels, environmental issues, the pleasure of reading, and the craft of writing. His advice to budding authors comes from firsthand experience: "Be yourself and write what you feel passionate about." His first novel, Cayman Gold, was selected for the National Geographic Society's JASON Project 2006
