Alison McGhee

Alison McGhee is the author of numerous books for both adults and young readers, including Snap and All Rivers Flow to the Sea, and the New York Times bestselling picture books Someday, illustrated by Peter Reynolds and A Very Brave Witch, illustrated by Harry Bliss.

Her first picture book, Countdown to Kindergarten, won the 2003 Minnesota Book Award, was a Booksense 76 pick, and won the Oppenheim Gold Toy Portfolio Award. Her picture book Mrs. Watson Wants Your Teeth was named an ALA Best Children's Pick, a Booksense 76 pick, a Junior Literary Guild Selection, and a Parents Choice Award winner. Her latest title, Julia Gillian (and the Art of Knowing), is the first book in a new middle-grade series, set in her home-town of Minneapolis.
