Emily Bridgham Middle School Teacher The American
School of The Hague
by Meghan O'Neill
I
recently had the pleasure of sitting down with 13-year educator,
Emily Bridgham, from The American School of The Hague. Traveling all
over the globe and teaching in a variety of different classroom
settings, Emily has learned a tremendous amount from her teaching
experience and continues to offer educators innovative ways of
approaching literature and teaching reading.

how Emily Bridgham motivated her middle school students to become
engaged and enthusiastic readers, click

The Pleasure Principle: Getting children to love
reading
Reading workshops are a great way to inspire
students to become fully immersed in the books they read. In these
lessons, students and teachers can talk about authors, genres, have
read alouds, and discuss students' favorite components of reading.
Reading is a reward in itself, which students can learn to truly
love.
