The Authorship Team

PAM ALLYN is the Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development for Scholastic Education and an award-winning author, speaker, and advocate for the power of literacy to change the lives of young people. Her books inclide Every Child a Super Reader, coauthored with Dr. Ernest Morrell. She is also the founding director of LitWorld, a global literacy initiative. Allyn is the author of LitLeague, an after-school or extended-day program that helps children discover the profound joys of reading and discussing books.

Since 2007, LitWorld has developed a model that taps into a strong network of more than 40 diverse partner organizations and trains hundreds of mentors who reach thousands of children all over the world. LitWorld's work is based on the inherent joy and transformation of reading, writing, and storytelling. It provides child-centered programming that encourages self-expression, builds understanding, and cultivates confidence, using literacy as a tool and pathway for self-empowerment.
