Plant Trackers!

Contest & Activities | Observing Plant Life Cycles

GRADES 3–6

How do plants know when to bloom? Engage your students with the science of phenophases, the stages in a plant’s life cycle that are triggered by changing seasons. Students will use our reading passages and resource sheets to gain key vocabulary and make connections to climate change, then observe plants outside or through photos.

PLANT OBSERVATION
STUDENT CONTEST WINNERS!

We asked students to observe a plant like a scientist by writing, drawing, and recording key details of their plant and we were so inspired by the amazing entries we received. Thank you to everyone that participated!
