VIRTUAL TEAM CHALLENGE 2008 EVENT!

Not only will students learn what it means to work in a real-world setting, they will build life-changing skills! JOIN THE VIRTUAL BUSINESS WORLD:
  1. 1. COACH your students through the simulation with the supplied teacher’s guide and curriculum materials from the Virtual Team Challenge Web site. This easy-to-use educational tool is perfect for homework or in-class use.

Amazing Prizes! Each student will be assigned a role at a fictional professional services firm and be held responsible for specific tasks in the simulation.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET THE PROGRAM RUNNING IN YOUR SCHOOL?
It’s easy. Whether you run the program in class or as homework—if you can check off each of these boxes, your students are ready to compete. If you are unsure about any of these questions, ask someone from your school’s IT department to help you.

  • Have the time to compete in the program?
    • The program requires one class period or one hour at home one day per week from February 25 – March 23.
  • Have the computers?
    • The program requires computers running WINDOWS XP.
    • They need a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card (integrated cards may not work correctly).
    • They need a CD-ROM drive.
  • Think you have computers that will run the program? Test them now!
    • Go to www.virtualteamchallenge.com/test to test your computer’s hardware and determine if you will be able to run the program. Share the link with your students as they may also be using this program from their home computers!
  • Have the online connection?
    • A stable Internet connection (we recommend a broadband connection).
    • Schools need access to Ports 80, 443, and 1236 through the school’s server firewall and/or network.
