Thanks for a Great Summer!

The Scholastic Summer Challenge is a free reading program dedicated to stopping the "Summer Slide" and encouraging kids to read more books this summer. This year, the Summer Challenge invited kids to log the minutes they spent reading as they Read for the World Record. The 20 schools with the most minutes logged will receive recognition in the 2014 Scholastic Book of World Records. Kids also participated in weekly challenges, earned digital rewards, entered sweepstakes to win fabulous prizes, and more.

The 2013 Scholastic Summer Challenge has ended, but there’s still time to:

  • Print your students’ reading report showing all the minutes they read this summer
  • Check the Summer STATS! Widget to see the top 100 schools
  • Download the Summer Challenge completion certificate for students
  • Sign up your students for the school year reading program, Read 100K
  • Join Scholastic’s global literacy campaign and help a child in your life to Read Every Day
  • Download Storia, the free interactive eReading App designed for children.

You will have until September 30 to print out your students’ reading report. Your students’ Summer Challenge user names and passwords can still be used on the STACKS site, Scholastic's online book community for kids.

Thanks for participating in the 2013 Scholastic Summer Challenge!
