The Scholastic Global Classport classroom exchange offers Teacher Monitored Email, a system which makes it possible for teachers to create safe email accounts for their students.  These accounts can be monitored by teachers to ensure that no inappropriate content is sent or received.  Your child's teacher would like to create such accounts for his or her students.  Scholastic Global Classport is part of the Scholastic.com website.  The operators of Scholastic Global Classport are Scholastic Inc. and ePALS Classroom Exchange, Inc.

Scholastic Global Classport offers student members certain features for which we have to collect personal information, including email, electronic greeting cards, and newsletters.  Before we collect that information and let your child use those features, your child's teacher needs to give us consent on your behalf.  Please read the attached privacy policy carefully for a complete description of those and other features at our site. Once you have read the privacy policy, you may give consent by signing this form and returning it to your child's teacher.  Until your child's teacher receives this signed consent form, your child will be unable to register with Scholastic Global Classport or use the site's features. Revocation: You may, at any time, request to review personal information that we have collected regarding your child and/or revoke your consent and refuse to allow us to further use or collect your child's personal information and direct us to delete the information by printing, completing and returning to us a letter which can be found at: http://www.scholastic.com/parents/inforequest/index.htm. Your child's teacher may also make such a request on your behalf by printing, completing and returning to us a letter which can be found at http://www.scholastic.com/parents/inforequest/tchrequest.htm. If we delete the information on your request, or on the request of your child's teacher, we may have to terminate any service provided to your child, but only if the information at issue is reasonably necessary for your child's participation in that activity.
