Getting the Girl
by Markus Zusak
Cameron Wolfe is the quiet one in his family, not a soccer star like his brother Steve or a charming fighter with a new girl every week like his brother Rube. Cam would give anything to be near one of those girls, to love her and treat her right. He especially likes Rube's latest, Octavia, with her brilliant ideas and bright green eyes. But what woman like that would want a loser like him?

Excerpt:
My oldest brother Steven Wolfe is what you'd call a hard bastard. He's successful. He's smart. He's determined.

The thing with Steve is that nothing will ever stop him. It's not only in him. It's on him, around him. You can smell it, sense it. His voice is hard and measured, and everything about him says, "You're not going to get in my way." When he talks to people, he's friendly enough, but the minute they try one on him, forget it. If someone tries to trample him, you'd put your house on it that he'll do twice the job on them. Steve never forgets.

Getting the girl really told me a lot about big brothers and I think it is the best book in my book collection.
Claire. Age 10

This book showed a lot of emotion and a very deep insight into a character's life. The book showed me how strong love can be and that you have to fight for what you believe in.
Noha S. Age 15

So far from what I've read the book seems really emotional and down to earth like you're really going through it.
Mary J, Age 14

Green Angel taught me to cherish every moment, like there's no tomorrow. It has a nice moral to it.
Dallas C. Age 10

It was great because show what might happen in real life. It is really sad but also very good.
