Beacon Hill Boys
by Ken Mochizuki
Like other Japanese Americans, Dan struggles with his identity but winds up falling into a spiral of rebellion that is all too all-American.

Excerpt:
The bell clanged, ending another day at the penitentiary, and I headed toward the gym to get ready for a baseball game. Overhead in the hall, a fluorescent light crackled and blinked. Those bulbs always bugged me when they busted.

I thought the book was very cool. It showed how Dan changed through out the book and took a close look at Japanese American teenage life.
