The Divide
by Elizabeth Kay
Felix is a special sort of hero. Though brave and resourceful, he has a heart condition that threatens his life. This summer, Felix is spending his vacation in Costa Rica. At a spot called the Divide — where the waters that run down to the Pacific and Atlantic oceans separate — Felix tumbles into a magical backwards world where mythical creatures are real and human beings are only a legend. It is there that Felix will encounter fantastical new friends who may help him find a cure for his illness. It's sure to be a journey beyond Felix's wildest dreams!

Excerpt:
"Well, peck me where it hurts!" said the voice. "What in the world are you?"

Felix stared. I'm dreaming, he thought. That's it, I'm dreaming.

"You're not a tangle-child," said the creature. "Your ears are the wrong shape."

The Divide is one of the best books I have ever read. Elizabeth Kay puts in all of the details so that you can have a picture in your head and just follow along with the book. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend that you read it.

This is a good book and I really liked it though I think it has the same sort of concept as 'Artimis Fowl' and I think that it is not as well done as it. Although this book is probably aimed at a younger audience. It is a great book and a great read no matter what it is compared to!!!

This is a great book! I must confess, I was drawn in from the start.
Unlike some books that just like to rip off well-known and well-loved series, this one has its own unique fantasy that is truly enchanting and interesting. I am hoping that this isn't the only book in this series or by Elizabeth Kay, because this is a talented piece that most fantasy loving kids and teens will be sure to enjoy.

The Divide is a great fantasy book. It includes many mythical creatures. I would recommend it to ages 8-16. It is an action packed story about a boy who some how falls into a different world when he stands across the Continental Divide.
