The Seeing Stone
by Kevin Crossley-Holland
Take a look at the diary of a 13-year-old boy named Arthur, living in an English manor in the 12th century. One day, his friend Merlin gives Arthur a magical stone that shows him visions of the once and future king, whose story parallels narrator Arthur's mysteriously close!

Excerpt:
In this many-layered novel, King Arthur is seen as a mysterious presence influencing not just one time and place but many. The 100 short chapters are almost like snapshots not only of the mythic tales of King Arthur, but the earthy, uncomfortable reality of the Middle Ages.

It is one of the 4 best books I ever read.  It offers a great point of view on the life in the middle ages and on King Arthur life.

I loved it!  I was spellbound. It was exciting and I had to go get the other two right after I finished it. If you haven't read the trilogy you really need to.

If you enjoy reading about medieval times, definitely read the Seeing Stone. Excellent details and foreshadowing. It is also gives information about life in the Middle Ages.

This book is very interesting. It often makes you wonder. The problem with it is that it's very slow in confusing in the beginning.
