Kyarra had plenty of time to think about what Lady Shaiala had told her, sitting on a rock at the edge of the pool above the waterfall. She'd donated her boots to Jilian and dipped her bare toes in the water, which was pleasantly warm. Trees brushed its surface with their leaves, and feathery purple flowers reflected in its depths.

This is definitely one of the best books I have read, and I've read a lot of books. Katherine Roberts is a great author and I really wish she would write more books. If you like fantasy, or even sci-fi, this is the trilogy to read. It's sad at parts, but almost everything turns out okay. The heroes and heroines are kids, even if they aren't quite like most people.
