Mac Troubleshooting

Downloading and Launching the Application

1) Click the "Mac Version" button on the download page. You may see a pop-up window similar to this one:

If so, make sure "Save File" is checked, and then click "OK".

2) Double-click the downloaded file "IRApp_mac.zip" to unzip.

3) Locate the now-unzipped file "IRApp.app" or "IRApp" and double-click to launch.

4) The first time you launch the application, you may see a pop-up window similar to this one:

Confirm that you downloaded the file from www.scholastic.com, and click "Open"

How to Exit the Application

You may quit the application at any time by pressing cmd-Q.

Difficulty with Full-Screen Mode

The application runs in full-screen mode by default, and resumes full-screen mode when and if you choose to print the Code Handout. This feature may cause problems on some Macs if you wish to toggle between the application and your desktop. If you experience this as an issue, you should fully quit the application (by pressing ⌘Q) to access your desktop, and re-launch the application when you are ready to resume.

Fitting to Your Screen

If the application is not filling up your entire screen while running normally, you may resize the content to fit your screen by right-clicking anywhere within the application and choosing between "Show All" to fit to your screen, and "100%" to return to its default size.
