Peter Roop is the author of over 100 books for children, including seven Reading Rainbow books.  With his wife Connie, he has written everything from fiction to biography.  His entertaining and educational program The Story of a Story traces the creation of a book from idea to publication.  Other programs include writing poetry, researching nonfiction, and journal writing. 

Nicknamed "The Pied Piper of Writing" Peter links students to their own writing efforts.  For 25 years an elementary teacher, Peter was recognized for his efforts in bringing children and books together by being named Wisconsin State Teacher of the Year.  Peter also conducts workshops for teachers to help improve student writing.  He is available for evening programs for parents as well.
