Short Bio:
PatrickCarman is the award-winning author of many books, including the Land of Elyon, Atherton, Trackers, and Skeleton Creek series. His books have been translated into approximately two dozen languages. He has spoken at over 600 schools and generally visits between 75 and 100 schools per year. www.patrickcarman.com
Presentation Details:
Suggested audience: K-8th grades
3 Presentations per day Maximum
For groups of K-2nd graders, Mr. Carman's presentation focuses on basic writing and reading skills with a lot of visuals and entertaining stories. This presentation is generally 30 minutes in length.
For 3rd grade and up Mr. Carman's presentation is 45 minutes. The presentation teaches key writing skills while entertaining with stories and dozens of visuals.
AV Tech Needs:
Mr. Carman brings his own laptop computer, but will need a projector to plug into along with a screen to project onto. He also hopes for a good microphone and a glass of water.
Conferences & Festivals:
Mr. Carman frequently speaks to adult groups of educators at statewide and national events. He enjoys giving keynote addresses as well as doing break out sessions for smaller groups and panel discussions with other authors. Mr. Carman will focus his adult group presentations on the changing landscape of storytelling in the 21st Century. The presentation includes extensive video and projected images.
Honorarium:
$1500 per day plus expenses for events within 350 miles of Walla Walla.
$2000 per day plus expenses for events more than 350 miles from Walla Walla.
