Neil Connelly Author Visit Kit
As the last of ten kids, Neil Connelly had plenty of practice telling stories as a boy. Later, he studied creative writing and eventually came to direct an MFA program. Along the way he published four novels, two in the YA world. Nowadays he lives in Central PA where he enjoys teaching at Shippensburg University. Learn more about him and his work at neilconnelly.com.
Neil has visited many middle and high schools, as well as libraries, spreading the word about the challenges and joys of reading and writing. Having students familiar with his work ahead of time is helpful, but not required. A typical session runs 45 minutes to an hour and includes a brief chat followed by an interactive exercise and then an informal Q&A.
Neil would be delighted to Skype in with library groups or classes that have read at least one of his books. He’ll be ready to answer questions, pose riddles, and perhaps do card tricks.
Neil’s teaching schedule at Shippensburg University makes visits a bit tricky. But if something can be worked out, virtual or otherwise, he’ll be grateful for the chance to talk to readers.
