Short Bio:
Nancy Krulik is the author of 150+ books for children and young adults, including three New York Times bestsellers. In addition to the Jack Gets a Clue and the How I Survived Middle School series, she is the author of the popular Katie Kazoo Switcheroo series and is also well known as a biographer of Hollywood's hottest young stars. Program Description:
Suggested Audience: Grades 2-8
2 Presentations per day Maximum
Nancy begins every visit with an interactive activity. For the Jack Gets a Clue readers (Grades 2-4), Nancy starts with a reader's theater in which students help the author perform an original play (Nancy will provide the scripts). Readers of the How I Survived Middle School series (Grades 4-8), will do a trivia contest, in which one lucky student wins a personalized signed book. Then Nancy will do a reading from the newest in either of her series, followed by a Q&A session, and a book signing. Request a visit.
Conferences & Festivals:
Nancy frequently speaks to adult groups of educators at state and national conferences and festivals and enjoys giving keynote addresses as well as breakout sessions and panel discussion groups. Previously she's given speeches on the use of humor, mystery, and series books to motivate children to read. Request a visit.
Virtual Visits
Nancy is happy to drop in for a 20-minute virtual visit and Q&A with book groups and library groups that have read at least one of her books using Skype or iChat. Request a visit.
Honorarium:
$1,000 per day plus expenses including hotel accommodations when overnight travel is required.
