Marvin Terban, called "the master of word play" and "Mr. English for Kids," is Scholastic's Professor Grammar and the author of over 35 award-winning, best selling books for children. He has visited hundreds of schools across the United States, South America, Europe, Israel and Japan.
Program Description
His lively and humorous Meet the Author PowerPoint presentation, "Who Says English Can't Be Fun?," relates directly to the language arts curriculum and is suitable for large assemblies, grades 3 to 6. It focuses on grammar, idioms, homonyms, homographs, palindromes, eponyms, irregular verbs and nouns, fun vocabulary, figures of speech, punctuation, spelling, jokes, and riddles—the puzzling idiosyncrasies of English.
No author has written more books for children directly related to the specific English language arts subjects in the Common Core State Standards than Marvin Terban.
He also speaks to faculty and in-service and parent groups.
To contact Marvin Terban about the possibility of his visiting your school, please e-mail him directly at mterban@verizon.net.
