Kate Water's books portray daily life during the early history of our country. In her presentations she answers questions such as
What was it like to be a pilgrim?
How did people in colonial America live?
How can we find out about what people who lived long ago were really like?

Using toys, games, songs, recipes and photographs taken at living history museums, Kate brings the past to life. The presentations also explain her writing process and give a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoots she directs.

Also available is a specially tailored middle school presentation about research, finding and using primary source documents, and interesting ways to present social studies projects and written reports.

The presentations fit into both language arts and social studies curriculum and meet standards in both.

In her presentations for teachers, Kate emphasizes making connections between historical events and people and today's children and presents teaching ideas to make the study of history vibrant and relevant.
