Generally, I'm able to gear my presentation to many different audiences (everything from elementary schools to college, from students to teachers groups to art schools). Also, I can direct the content of my presentation to a specific theme if requested.

My presentation to elementary schools usually involves showing a Power Point presentation which includes images from most of my books plus other content relating to my personal/social/literary influences (e.g. family photographs and books that had great impact on me). I discuss the craft of story telling from an illustrator's point of view, as well as talk about all the illustrator's tools/skills employed in making a good picture and book. Everything from composition, color, shape, perspective to dramatic effects, close-ups, etc. can be explored.

Perhaps, most importantly though, I work hard at impressing upon young people that their own stories are worth telling, that each of their lives and voices is an authentic and valid place no less worthy than anyone else's to find a great story to share its all in how you tell it, or, illustrate it.

I can also include a short movie (about 6 minutes) in my presentation where I take the viewer on a tour of my studio.
