Fran Manushkin has written over thirty funny, high-spirited picture books, easy-to-read stories, and novels. She presents a fast-paced slide show about her life as a writer entitled, "My Roller Coaster Life as a Children's Book Writer." Fran also has a program about how a picture book is created, called, "From the First Scribbles to a Finished Book." With the children's participation, she shows all the book's stages, including the original manuscript, galleys, artist's sketches, final art, and the press-sheet. She always encourages a lively questions-and-answer period as well.
