Short Bio

Cecil Castellucci was born in Montreal, grew up in New York City, and now lives in Los Angeles. She is the author of the young adult novels First Day on Earth, Rose Sees Red, Boy Proof, The Queen of Cool, and Beige, as well as the graphic novels The Plain Janes and Janes in Love. Suggested Topics: Identity, Friends and Friendship, Character and Values

Cecil Castellucci likes to begin her presentations with a discussion about identity followed by a short reading from one of her books. Then she begins a writing exercise and character workshop.

Conferences & Festivals

Cecil frequently speaks to adult groups of educators at state and national conferences and festivals and enjoys giving keynote addresses as well as breakout sessions and panel discussion groups. Request a visit.
