C. Alexander London is the author of the middle grade series, Dog Tags, and the Accidental Adventures series. As Alex London, he’s the author of the Young Adult cyberpunk thriller, Proxy. A former journalist who reported from refugee camps and war zones, he can now be found in Brooklyn, NY, talking to his dog, the real brains of the operation.
The Who, What, and How and Why of Being an Author
This presentation can run anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour (with a Q&A), depending on the schedule and explores the author’s journey from reluctant reader to journalist to novelist. The author also explores where ideas come from and how they get turned from daydreams into books.
While the themes remain the same, there are different versions for grades 3–5, for grades 6–8, and for high school students.

For teachers and librarians: Why Write Children’s Books, in which the author explores the role stories can play in the life of young readers, why he writes, and how to engage reluctant readers through validating all kinds of reading experiences.
Alexander London will do up to 30 minute Skype visit Q&As for book clubs, library groups, and classrooms who have read at least one of his books.
The ability to project a PowerPoint presentation is preferred. The author has his presentation on a thumb drive, as well as his own laptop with a connector to most projectors. No sound is needed.
