Continuing the Back-to-School Team Theme

By  Beth Newingham on August 21, 2012
  • Grades: 3–5

During the first few weeks of school, to keep our back-to-school theme of teamwork going, I read books aloud at the beginning of our daily "Team Meeting" that demonstrated the importance of teamwork and working together.

Other ways I’ve woven the theme into classroom activities:

  • We named our weekly newsletter the Team Newingham Tribune.
  • During our computer time, we created Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine covers for a hallway display. Each magazine included a picture of the student who made the cover and a self-selected headline.

Check out photos and download materials to create your own team theme.

Hi there!

My class website is at a new location, so you will need to visit the Teacher Resource section of my class website to access the links. Here is the new address: http://hil.troy.k12.mi.us/staff/bnewingham/myweb3/

Sorry for the confusion!

-Beth Newingham

The links are not working. Can you help? Thanks
