Being Grateful

By Andrea J. Spillett on November 16, 2011
  • Grades: PreK–K, 1–2

I invite you to take a moment with me at this time of year and reflect on what we are grateful for. The things I am most thankful for bring peace, closeness, joy, support, and love to my life.

I AM GRATEFUL FOR:

The peaceful feeling I have when I walk my dog, Reese’s, on a warm sunny afternoon;

The closeness I feel toward my family after spending hours gabbing with my mom on the phone, or sharing with my brothers the excitement when one of our Detroit sports teams wins and knowing my dad is smiling from above;

The absolute joy I feel when I see my students overcome a challenge;

The support I receive from my incredible group of friends;

The unconditional love that my husband gives me each day by taking such good care of me;

And above all, I am grateful for the life I have with all of its adventures!
