African American and white baseball players used to have to play on separate teams. Jackie Robinson helped change this. He was the first African American player to join an all-white major league team. He played for a team called the Brooklyn Dodgers. At first, fans booed him. Some of his teammates didn’t want him to play. But Jackie Robinson was brave and stayed on the team. Robinson went on to help the Brooklyn Dodgers win the World Series in 1955.
Eyelashes are the fine hairs that protect your eyeballs. They prevent dust and dirt from getting in your eyes. Their curved shape helps catch water and sweat. Eyelashes also act as a kind of sensor. They tell your eyes to blink when something gets too close.
