SUGGESTED GROUPING:

  • Whole class and cooperative groups

ASK cooperative groups of children to retell The Three Billy Goats Gruff from the troll's point of view. How would the troll change the story to make himself look good?

PROVIDE time for children to meet in groups and talk about how the story might change. Have them plan their retellings.

INVITE the groups to take turns acting out and retelling their versions of the story. Children playing the part of the troll may want to change their voices and gestures.
