Remind children of the boy's bulletin board at the end of the book. Ask them what pictures were important to him and how the pictures helped him tell a story about himself.

Invite children to create a book with one animal on each page. They may use magazine pictures, stamps, and/or stickers to create their storybook. Encourage children to include animals to which they can compare themselves.

Guide children in labeling their pictures. Allow children to tell the class a story about themselves using their collection of pictures. Give classmates the opportunity to ask questions.

Observation: Notice how children listen to one another as they share their storybooks.
