The following words appear in Maniac Magee and may be unfamiliar to some students. You might make lists of 10 to 15 words to assign as “refrigerator studies.” First have students look up the words and add their meanings to the list. Then instruct them to tape or use a magnet to post the list on their refrigerator door. Explain that students can practice using one or two words on the list each time they open the door.
