The following words appear in the story and may be unfamiliar to some students. After introducing the list, you might have students create a Word Wall. Assign one or two words to each student. Have students find the word in the story, and use the story context to get the correct meaning of the word. They can check the meaning by using a dictionary. Students can then add their word and it's story definition to the Word Wall. Have students present their word to the class and use it in an original sentence.
