Overview

In this unit, we study various poets and forms of poetry. The students get a chance to read and write haiku, cinquain, couplets, limericks, form poems, shape poems, and free verse.

Objective

Students will:

  1. Recognize different forms of poetry
  2. Write original poetry in various forms
  3. Create an original page for the class "I Spy" book
