Create a Word Butterfly
MATERIALS:
- Paper
- Pencil
SUGGESTED GROUPING:
- Individuals
HAVE children write descriptions of butterflies in the shape of butterflies. Begin by providing a large pattern for a butterfly outline that the children can trace lightly with pencils on large sheets of paper.
ASK children to brainstorm words to describe butterflies. Make a list of these words on chart paper for children to use as a resource to create their butterfly descriptions.
INVITE children to write describing words on their butterfly outlines. Children should begin by writing the word "Butterflies," then continue by writing describing words on the outlines.
