Some online resources for  Hispanic Heritage Month

First is the Hispanic Heritage Teaching Resources site from the Smithsonian. There are a variety of topics covered that include student activities, lesson plans and documents.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a site put together from the resources of several government organizations including the Library of Congress and the National Gallery of Art. The site presents audio and video as well as photographs and other digitized documents covering the rich history of the Latino community in the United States. For instance, the National Park Service, the Historic American Buildings Survey and the Library of Congress teamed up to create a page on the history of Spanish Missions.

The Library of Congress has the Learning Page: Hispanic Americans, part of the American Memory series. The site is a treasure trove of original documents, webcasts, lesson plans, digitized images and other materials. The online resources are split between teachers and students material.
