FEEL THAT SKIN (Science)

If possible, bring a variety of fabrics to class that resemble the scaly and smooth skins of snakes. Let children touch the fabrics and describe what they feel like. Ask children if they have ever touched the skin of a real snake. How did it feel? To extend this activity, you might bring samples of fur or feathers for children to feel. Ask them what animals these textures suggest.
