After watching the virtual field trip to the American Museum of Natural History, discuss the characteristics of a diorama. What makes a diorama effective? With your class, you may want to watch videos of other dioramas on the museum’s website at www.amnh.org/exhibitions/dioramas/behind. Then, challenge your students to create their own box dioramas related to a subject of current study in your classroom—whether it’s the American Revolution or Arctic animals. Display the dioramas along a hallway or in the classroom and invite parents and other classes to visit your “Hall of Learning.”
