Vocabulary
As students read each chapter, ask them to put sticky notes next to words they don't know. Compile these into a class list.
Activity/Funny Fortunes
Have students use the words in a Funny Fortune activity. Assign a few words to each student. Explain that they should first look up the word, then write a one-line fortune using the word. Have students place their fortunes in a box. Then, have students take turns picking a fortune, reading it to the class and discussing the meaning of the underlined word. For example:
Things will go well for you today and you'll be blissful.
It will be sunny today—just radiant.
