A MONKEY ROLE-PLAY
Download a printable version of the the pattern shown below, print it and help children use it to make construction paper caps — some each of gray, blue, brown, and red, and one that is checkered. Use brass fasteners to attach a construction paper band to either side of the visor. Adjust to fit on children's heads.
Reread Caps for Sale and have one child play the role of the peddler while the others play the monkeys. Have them use their cap visors to reenact the hat scenes.
